Pair programming is probably considered the most extreme practice of "extreme programming" and a powerful technique to accelerate learning in a software development team. In this episode, Dave Farley looks at this cultural practice that supports our ability to build better software faster in Continuous Delivery and DevOps teams. Dave provides examples of pair programming, describes some best practices for pair programming, and challenges some thinking about pair programming patterns and anti-patterns.

When Kent Beck wrote about Extreme Programming (XP), he described pair programming as one of the technical and cultural disciplines that helped improve the quality and efficiency of software development. Few teams that practice it would work without it again.
