On December 8th, OpenSSL disclosed the CVE-2020-1971 vulnerability that can trigger a denial-of-service attack on unpatched web servers. While not a data leakage bug, this vulnerability could crash an application via a malicious certificate, so it's important to understand the basics and why it's important to patch it.
