You may not be as ethical as you think. Retired FBI agent Michael "Bret" Hood, who specialized in financial crime investigations, spent decades putting people in prison for their unethical actions. Now he wants to help people avoid the ethical pitfalls that often go unnoticed. In his talk, Bret takes the audience through a series of ethical checks and then explores what causes people to stray from their ethical baselines and how they can become more ethically aware.

Hood is currently an adjunct professor of corporate governance and ethics at the University of Virginia, a board member of the School of Accountancy at Southern Illinois University, and a faculty member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. This talk was delivered at a TEDx event in the TED conference format, but was independently organized by a local community. For more information, visit https://www.ted.com/tedx
