Hitman is one hell of a franchise. It's been around for just over two decades and has been rebooted and remastered more times than anyone can count (3). Over the course of its many iterations, the team behind it has learned some very interesting lessons about how to get people to play a certain way, and what kind of game they're actually making.

With Hitman 3 marking the end of Agent 47's career for now, The Architect – also a master of disguise – has taken it upon himself to look back at the history of Hitman and reflect on how the game gained its now legendary reputation and how the developers created it.
