Frame rate is expressed in a few different standards (expressed as frames per second, or fps): 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps, 60 fps, and 120 fps. You can think of frame rate like a flip book: each new drawing on a piece of paper is an image. When you flip through, you'll see all the frames stitched together as one continuous moving image. So if you have a frame rate of 24 fps, that means the camera is capturing 24 individual images in one second, and when played back, they'll appear as one continuous video.
