In the shipping industry, the term demurrage is used. The meaning of demurrage is: If the agreed time of the loading or unloading process is exceeded in any case, the charter company must pay a penalty to the ship owner. This is called demurrage.
How much is the detention fee?
It is OK to exceed the free time outside the terminal agreed with the shipping company or container owner until the container is returned.

Laytime is an agreed period of time during which a charterer completes the loading and unloading of cargo at a particular port.
What is shipping?
Demurrage and handling charges may be charged for bulk cargo transportation covered and regulated by charter parties.
