What is a zero-day vulnerability?

In the IT world, a zero-day vulnerability is usually described as a software vulnerability (or bug) that is known to the software vendor but has not yet been fixed by them. Sometimes the vulnerability is publicly known, sometimes the vendor discovers it and keeps it secret (hopefully fixing the issues). The worst case is when it is discovered because bad guys launch attacks that exploit that vulnerability.

This is different from a /"Zero Day Attack/". The definition can be found in our other video https://youtube.com/shorts/bkCJ9y90SnQ?feature=share
