On a Saturday night in Cambridge, students can choose from a variety of activities. At MIT, Hacking Arts—whose mission is to "foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the creative arts"—is one of them. In this short film, The Atlantic followed students on the night shift trying to improve the arts through technology. Notably, the hackathon's participants were diverse: 60 percent were women and 15 percent were people of color. This is the fifth installment in The Atlantic's "Saturday Night in America" video series, which highlights nightlife across the country.
