Behind every major research project lies good data management. This usually starts with data management plans (DMPs). DMPs are written documents, usually written at the beginning of a research project, that set out how researchers plan to manage their research data during and after the research project. Librarians in research organizations play a key role in supporting researchers in developing their plans. The Digital Curation Centre, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, will present data management plans in an online webinar. The session will introduce what DMPs are and why they are needed. In addition, the webinar will share some 'planning tricks' for developing a DMP and offer librarians some best practices for supporting researchers in developing data management plans.
