We know Walmart is a successful company that sells goods all over the world, but that's not all it does. You'd be surprised at the impact Walmart makes locally and globally with its many philanthropic efforts. Our Guest, Julie Gehrki, explains the different ways Walmart supports nonprofits through its new social program, Spark Good.

Rob's guest, Julie Gehrki, is Vice President of Philanthropy at Walmart. Last year, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation provided more than $1.5 billion in cash and in-kind contributions to support programs that align with their philanthropic priorities. Through the joint philanthropic efforts of Walmart and the Walmart Foundation, Walmart creates opportunities for people to live better every day.

Julie shares about Walmart's new social impact program, Spark Good, and how it meets the needs of both customers and the local nonprofits they choose to support. She explains the four key tools that make up the Spark Good program , and how each of these tools supports the different needs of nonprofits. Julie also shares that Walmart often matches customer donations and fulfills the material requests of the nonprofits they work with. Julie believes that companies cannot make a real impact if they not really listening. That is why Walmart tries to closely accompany both local communities and nonprofits to really understand their needs. Julie advises large companies that want to make an impact through philanthropy. Finally, she gives some insights into Walmart as a whole and beyond what they think more people should know about the company.
