Hopefully this video helps explain the components themselves and what they mean. There are a lot of great components that you can farm as a player in the early game. I wouldn't spend all your time farming them when you're in the early or mid game because unlike weapons, you can't increase the level of a component you already have. You have to go out and re-farm another one at a higher level. I would just look for a good one that really boosts your overall stats and then prioritize getting the pieces that you're comfortable with.
