Aggressive opening for Black against e4 – https://youtu.be/c6vnlHXBPDw

The Benko Gambit variations and games shown in the video can be found in this blog post – https://chess-teacher.com/benko-gambit-opening/

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shows you a simple, easy-to-learn and aggressive chess opening for Black against 1.d4: the Benkö Gambit, which follows 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 b5.

Smirnov played this opening as Black up to FIDE Master (2300 ELO rating) and it really worked to his advantage. In fact, GM Smirnov used the Benkö Gambit against Magnus Carlsen's former chess coach Simen Agdestein and defeated him in only about 16 moves.

He also presents the game in which Magnus Carlsen used this opening to defeat one of the strongest grandmasters in the world, Boris Gelfand.

You will also learn how to deal with your opponents when they capture your pawn early in the opening with 3.dxc5 instead of 3.d5.
