Let's start with some good news. The total number of tour guide jobs is growing worldwide, and the WTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) reports that global tourism continues to be one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy! If you're asking, "How do I get a tour guide job?", I think there are at least 7 questions you need to ask yourself first!

In this video I also share some insights into finding a job as a tour guide, discuss some of the benefits of working for a smaller or larger travel company, and how you can work as a tour guide internationally or locally.

As mentioned above, there are numerous resources here to help you with your job search.

First, our amazing Be a Better Guide team spent a lot of time researching a list of the largest tour guide employers in the world. This list features over 63 companies that hire tour guides from all over the world! Use the list to find out what they're up to and contact them if you're interested in their hiring process. Secondly, here is another of our videos that will explain to you the difference between "tour guides" and "tour leaders". You will have to decide which appeals to you more because that means you will have to approach different companies to get your tour guiding career off the ground! http://goo.gl/MdbcrM

Third, here is a list of 101 different travel ideas from our friends at Tourism Tiger. Not only is this list incredibly long, but it also includes company websites for the different types of travel. Browse through for inspiration, or maybe even contact some of the companies to find your dream job. Check out the list here: http://goo.gl/nhKgLZ

Fourth, another list from Tourism Tiger that contains over 80 different places where you can list your tours and activities online. This list will be a great help to you if you are interested in becoming a freelance tour guide or starting your own travel business! In addition, I highly recommend checking out these listing sites and services as you can find out what other tour guides and companies are doing in the area you want to work in. https://goo.gl/2zoadA
