In this video, I walk you through the process of creating this beautiful 12/" x 36/" acrylic #Dutchpour painting. Through trial and error, I learned how to layer my paints effectively, considering the level of transparency and opacity of each layer of paint.

I'm sure there are different schools of thought on this topic, but in my experience, this method works best for me:

When layering your pour paints for an #acrylic pour painting, it's important to pay attention not only to the #transparency of the paint, but also to the color it's layered over. For example, if you use transparent or semi-transparent complementary colors together and don't add an opaque layer in between, you risk them getting muddy. If you're using transparent colors that you want to mix, like blue and red, and you're hoping for some purple in the mix, it may be okay to layer them on top of each other. There are so many variables, so be patient with yourself. Don't be afraid to try certain color combinations to see how they look together. And take notes! I always think I'll remember, and then I forget… just like I forgot what colors I used to mix the custom green base. Haha!

I usually mention the colors in the description, but most of the colors are custom mixed and I created them intuitively and forgot to write them down. Sorry! Next time I'll do better 😉
