What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. What makes it unique is that virtually everything on ROBLOX is designed and built by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13- to 18-year-olds, but is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. (Watch out for these exploits or you'll get banned from Roblox.) Then they can explore ROBLOX – interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player also gets their own piece of undeveloped land and a virtual toolbox to design and build anything they want – be it a drivable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer game of Capture the Flag, or any other creation they've yet to dream up. This first piece of virtual land is free. By participating and building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn special badges and ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In exchange, they can purchase avatar clothing and accessories, as well as high-quality building materials, interactive components and working mechanisms from the online catalog.
