Every day, each of us contributes to the creation of vast amounts of data that a few technology companies use to develop and deliver products and services that we love to use. There is an asymmetry in this game: these companies know everything about us, while most of us know nothing about them. Most of us are unaware of how data about us is collected and used. And what's more, for some reason, most of us don't seem to care! Isabella De Michelis, entrepreneur and personal data expert, tells us that regulations like GDPR give us the opportunity to take control of our data, but it is our choice whether we want to do so or not. Will we demand respect for our rights and start changing the rules of the game? In 2017, ErnieApp started with the belief that only an Internet model based on user consent could solve the dilemma of privacy, innovation and collaboration could coexist peacefully in a digital society directed towards AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things).

In 2019, the company's first commercial software, PKM Base, was promoted with its iOS and Android operating systems: it has created an innovative application on consumer privacy and has been introduced to the new "trust paradigm". The app, which is very intuitive and easy to use, creates a powerful algorithm called Privacy Knowledge Manager (PKM), which controls the authorization of the corresponding data in three different ways to be more effective, dynamic and durable.

When she launched her RegTech initiative, Isabella was Vice President of EMEIA for Government Affairs and Technology Policy at Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) and had initially dealt with various managers from CISCO, IRIDIUM, ELSACOM and TELESPAZIO, responsible for the strategic issues, normative, from the side of printing, access to the market and partnership with the target.

Many years ago, I promoted collaboration between government and industry on innovation, standardization and new technology development, with a focus on IP data, in the mobile and wireless settings.
