Current CDC guidelines for HIV/AIDS screening suggest that primary care physicians ask patients between the ages of 13 and 65 about their HIV risk and offer them a test at least once. But this approach has a major flaw because risk behaviors must be assessed continuously, not just at one point in a patient's life. It only takes one exposure to become infected with HIV, and so ongoing risk assessment is critical. Let's work together to ensure our patients receive comprehensive and ongoing HIV/AIDS screening and support. #HIVTesting #PatientCare #RiskAssessment #CDCGuidelines
