To gain access to the YouTube Community Tab, you need 1,000 subscribers. After reaching this threshold, it usually takes one to two weeks for the Community Tab to appear on your YouTube channel.

The Community tab lets you create community posts with text, images, animated GIFs, polls, or links to other videos on YouTube.

Subscribers can see community posts in their subscription feed.

To create a YouTube Community post on your computer or phone, go to your YouTube channel and find the Community tab.

You can then create a post and add either a poll, an image or a video to it.

If you want to greet fans or other creators, you can use mentions by writing an @ symbol and the channel name.

When you're done, click "Post". You can also schedule your community post for a specific date.
If you have channel memberships, you can create posts only for members of a certain level.
Tips for using the YouTube Community tab most effectively.

Certain types of posts work better than others. For example, posts are usually best because they provide the most interaction, followed by GIFs, followed by images, and finally just text.

Posts and videos tend to get the least interaction. If you have no idea what to use the Community tab for, here are some suggestions. Use it for:

– Announcements
– Behind the scenes material
– Ask your audience for suggestions
– Conduct audience research and find out what viewers like
– Share personal pictures and more about your private life than in the videos
– Create a poll that will be published a few hours before a video

To analyze your post’s performance, go to your YouTube Analytics, click on “Engagement” and scroll down a bit to see your top posts.

Here you can see the impressions and likes for your posts.

What worked? What didn't? What can you learn from past posts for your future posts?

The important thing is to remember to use community posts regularly. Since YouTube is a video platform, we all naturally focus on creating videos and so it can be easy to forget to use community posts.

So try to include them in your editorial calendar so you don’t forget to create community posts.
