In today's video I will try to teach new and experienced anglers how to cast Egi or Squid jigs effectively.
From my personal observation, many videos have been made over the years about squid fishing, but none of them contain the basic instructions on how to work the egi or squid jig effectively. Most videos are short and/or only cover a basic type of retrieve. This puts new anglers or those who want to start fishing at a great disadvantage as they have limited knowledge and the probability of catching a fish is thus purely down to luck.

Squid jig retrieval can basically be divided into two main types: bouncing and shooting.
Jumping retrieval is intended to imitate the movement of a shrimp or an ebi in the water.
When retrieving with quick strokes, the jumping of bait fish such as horse mackerel or bigeye mackerel is imitated.
Two retrieving techniques have their own advantages. Hopping covers a larger column of water in vertical space. Fast retrieving covers a larger area on the water.
