For our demo purposes we have prepared the following VMs.
Server name IP address Role
SQLNode1 10.93.253.5 Primary node of SQL AG
SQLNode2 10.93.253.6 SQL AG secondary node

SQLNode3 10.93.253.10 SQL AG tertiary node

VDITest3 10.93.253.7 Domain Controllers and Active Directory

## Steps to add a new node to existing SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
part One
o Server installation
o Assign static IP address
o Turn off the Windows Firewall
o Hostname and IP verification
o Add SQLNode3 as a domain member
o Enable failover cluster feature
o Add a new node to the existing failover cluster

Part II
o Install SQL Server 2019 and enable the AG feature
o Verify the integrity of the SQL Server Always On Availability Groups dashboard
o SQL Server network configurations
o Restore the SQL Server Always On Availability Group database on the new replica SQL instance
o Failover testing for the SQL Server Always on Availability group

You should go through the following articles and build the infrastructure before moving on to this article.
1. Configure domain controllers and Active Directory for SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
o It configures the domain controller and Active Directory features.
o Add the virtual machines to the domain created above.
2. Configure failover clusters, storage controllers, and quorum configurations for SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
o Windows Failover Cluster Configurations
o iSCSI target and initiator configurations
o Confirmation of the file sharing witness as cluster quorum
3. Install SQL Server 2019 on Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
o Synchronous mode Always On configurations for SQLNode1 and SQLNode2
