Scrum Roles:

The Scrum Master is one of the most important roles in the Scrum framework. This is because the Scrum Master is the key player in terms of Scrum coaching for the team and the rest of the organization.

In the Scrum methodology, the Scrum Master is the person who protects the team and coaches the Scrum Team and the Scrum Product Owner.

The Scrum framework is typically used in Scrum software development projects. The Scrum Product Owner is a business representative who captures the business requirements in an agile way of working that fits the Scrum methodology.

The Scrum and Development Team works agile to deliver software iteratively and incrementally. This development team usually consists of 3-9 people.

The Scrum Master, the Product Owner and the development team use the Scrum principles and methodology together to develop complex software and systems iteratively and incrementally.

The Scrum Master is a special role for the agile Scrum team that effectively increases empowerment, communication, coordination and collaboration within the Scrum team and the entire organization.

The Product Owner is a visionary company representative who reflects the requirements in customer-oriented user stories to clarify them.

The development team builds on the reference user stories during the sprint.

Scrum events and ceremonies:

The first Scrum ceremony is called Sprint Planning. Sprint Planning consists of two parts: The first part is "The What?" and the second part is "The How?". During the Scrum ceremony, it is important that the Scrum Master, the Product Owner and the Development Team start with an agreed Sprint Goal.

The second Scrum ceremony is called the Scrum Daily Stand-up. During the Scrum Daily Stand-up, the Development Team develops an agreed plan for the next 24 hours to ensure they stay engaged and on track to achieve the Sprint Goal.

The third Scrum ceremony is called Sprint Review. In this meeting, the Scrum Team presents the progress of the Sprint deliverable to the stakeholders and provides feedback for the next Sprint. It is important to understand that in this meeting, the Scrum Team also celebrates.

The fourth Scrum ceremony is called the Sprint Retrospective. In the Sprint Retrospective, the team reflects on the progress they have made as a team and how they can improve to become a high-performing Scrum team.

In the optional Scrum Refinement session, the Scrum Team can discuss, prepare and evaluate user stories for upcoming sprints.

A Sprint is typically a two- to four-week iteration in which the Scrum Team collaborates and coordinates to develop a producible and deliverable Increment.

Sprint Artifacts:

The product backlog is a collection of all the items required to produce the deliverable.

The sprint backlog is a small, subordinate backlog that the Scrum team must work through during the sprint.

The product increment is the actual deliverable for the customer and is created as the main result of the sprint.
