Spec Ops: The Line is a 2012 third-person shooter video game developed by Yager Development and published by 2K. In the game, players can hide behind cover, jump over obstacles, and shoot enemies while using a variety of gadgets. The game's soundtrack is a mix of licensed music and original music composed by Elia Cmíral.
The player controls Captain Martin Walker, who is sent on a reconnaissance mission with an elite Delta Force team into post-disaster Dubai. As the story progresses, Walker's mental state begins to deteriorate as he begins to hallucinate and slowly realize the horrors of war.
The game offers provocative and gripping modern third-person military shooter gameplay that tests players' morale by putting them in unspeakable situations where they must make unimaginable decisions that affect human life. Features include a gripping storyline reminiscent of Apocalypse Now and Heart of Darkness but set in a devastated Dubai, tactical team-based Delta Force gameplay in a horizontally and vertically oriented world, and devastating sandstorms that can be used in combat.
