In 1.205 we are adding Prototech blocks. These are powerful "endgame" blocks found in new "Global Encounters". Prototech is a powerful technology developed by the secret Factorum faction. They have gone to great lengths to ensure that components cannot be reverse engineered!

This means that you can't simply grind these blocks and extract their components like you can with normal blocks. Instead, you have to extract them intact and then add them to existing grids using merge blocks.

Alternatively, if you have purchased a Prototech Assembler, you can create new components from Prototech scrap. But note: the Prototech Frame component, which forms the basis of every Prototech block, cannot be crafted!

Finally, lucky explorers can find Prototech components (including Prototech frames) in the cargo depots of the various new NPC encounters. Collecting enough of them might allow you to construct a new Prototech block without the need for an assembler.
