Git is a version control system used by many software developers today. Git allows individuals working alone or in teams to save versions of their code. The code is stored in a repository (repo) that can be accessed when needed. Code is saved to the repository using a special command called "git commit".

In this video, we'll show you how to create a Git repository, move files to staging, and create a snapshot. We'll walk you through initializing a Git repository for a new or existing project, and then you'll make your first commit.
