I recently bought a sand eel rake from Ribb Rakes in the USA and here I am trying to catch some for bait. The rake works well but the sand eels seem to be in short supply compared to a few years ago. I also think it would be better in the morning on a spring tide. On this occasion I caught some very small ones and a couple of medium sized ones. The location is a sand bank at the entrance to Christchurch Harbour on the south coast of England.
