ABSTRACT

Alex Sotirov is a Vulnerability Engineer at determina. He will explain some of the latest techniques for reverse engineering software to find vulnerabilities. In particular, he will explain his technique that he used to find the ANI bug (a critical new bug in WinXP and Vista).

Alex describes the tools he uses for reverse engineering and shows how he reverse engineered the ANI bug. He will also discuss Windows security mechanisms (ASLR, /GS) and describe how the ANI exploit bypasses them. Credits: Speaker: Alex Sotirov
