This video shows the entire process of setting up and recording an electric guitar with an audio interface on a computer. Recording guitar on a computer is really flexible and fun, and it just takes a little practice to get the hang of it. I use the Scarlett 2i2 audio interface ( https://www.zzounds.com/a–3970767/item–FOCSCAR2I2V3 ) which I connect my Fender Stratocaster directly to so I can record on the computer.
