Running OpenStack in production is not an easy task. Fortunately, most OpenStack components are based on common principles and logic. This workshop will teach basic troubleshooting steps that apply to most OpenStack components, as well as tips and tricks learned while running OpenStack in both production and the lab.
The audience can learn the basic principles of troubleshooting OpenStack components. Where to look and how to ask for help (IRC, mailing lists, openstack.org wiki documentation, etc.). The workshop provides a virtual machine image with DevStack pre-installed and exercises covering some error scenarios. We also show how to troubleshoot Nova scheduler/"No valid host found/" error messages, basic Heat stack errors, restoring admin access to Keystone, etc.
