AP is reporting live from arrivals, viewing parties and views of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on the day of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games. Instead of a traditional march into the stadium, about 6,800 athletes will parade 4.3 miles (6.9 kilometers) along the Seine on more than 90 boats. This will be the beginning of the ceremony, not the end – another break with tradition.
