I missed a good opportunity to call in a passing attack as the first plane arrived. A ten-second shot through the windshield could have been the key to a quicker knockdown.
The first engine to arrive is a relief unit. This is happening more and more frequently in Newark as our operational staff is reduced due to budget constraints. The relief unit has done a great job as always, but this is no accident. We work well with the surrounding relief units and include them in our training when possible.
