I host webinars all the time. In fact, at least once a month. They generate a lot of leads for our company and, over time, increase sales too. They're also great for brand building and are becoming increasingly popular in just about every industry. In fact, 67% of marketers say they've increased their investment in webinars. So how can you capitalize on all this webinar buzz? Because it's not just about getting people to sign up for your webinar. You need to use that buzz to actually generate leads for your business. 76% of marketers say webinars help them reach more leads, 75% say they expand their brand's reach, and 69% say they help them scale their marketing efforts.

My favorite tip for running a successful webinar is to run it with a partner. My advertising agency, NP Digital, offers all kinds of partnerships that other brands can team up with. But one of my favorite ways is when we partner with someone else on a live webinar. That maximizes my reach. By running it with another company, I can almost double, sometimes even triple, my potential audience on a webinar. Here's how I do it.

Step one: I find a new partner with a similar but not exactly the same audience as yours. For example, my audience might be an SEO. We partnered with BigCommerce and did a webinar with them. Their audience was ecommerce people. A lot of people who read my website are interested in marketing, but they also have an ecommerce website. BigCommerce provides the platform and their audience is interested in marketing. So can you see how my clients can use their platform and how their clients on their platform can use our services?

Step Two: Create a Promotional Plan It is extremely important to make sure that your brand's marketing strategies are compatible with each other. Before you start advertising, make sure that you align the timing, the aesthetics of the design, and even the voice.

Step three: Plan a test run. If you both use the same platform and need to access it, make sure everything is running smoothly before the event.

Step four: Define your post-webinar strategy. What good is all this traffic if you don't convert it into leads? Email is the most important promotional channel for webinars. Up to 57% of registrations come through this channel, according to our observations, and the conversion rate is about 27% above average, according to our observations.

The second way you can get a lot more people to attend your webinars is by promoting them on all of your social channels. And that's what I mean by that. I'm not talking about just posting a message on Instagram saying, "I'm doing a webinar right now" and doing the same thing on LinkedIn. That's fine, but we use tools like Restream where when we do a webinar, we also make it live on all of our social channels. And it gets sent to all of our followers on those social networks, so that way we get more people directly attending our webinar.

The third thing we do, and we love this strategy, is we send follow-up messages after the webinar ends. And you're probably wondering, "Neil, how do I get more people to my webinar?" A lot of the people you emailed to attend the webinar aren't going to attend. So after it's over and recorded, you can email all of those people to watch your recorded webinar. The second thing is, a lot of people who sign up for your webinar also don't attend on the day. So emailing them the recorded version will also get more people watching your webinar. And during the webinar, you should be pitching your products and services after conveying a lot of goodwill and value, which will help you get more sales.
