Imagine if YouTube only had videos of people looking for love. That would be the world we could live in! Before YouTube had 1.9 billion daily users, it started as a video-based dating service, complete with the truly excellent slogan: "Tune in, Hook Up."

The reason they didn't flop is because they were willing to listen and fundamentally change their business when their original idea didn't meet the needs of their market. They were smart observers and flexible enough to adapt.
