So here's a quick look at how I made my version of some common gaming objective markers! I'm thinking mostly Warhammer 40k, Kill Team or Necromunda. They consist of a 50mm base and start/stop button covers which I've had my eye on for a while (link below). There's about 1 per minuet which is a nice reduction from 3/4 a while ago.

I bought them purely for the opening mechanism as I think it's a nice little touch and I've been looking for a use for them. In most games the size of the objective markers is 40mm (I'm thinking Warhammer 40k/Kill Team) so these are physically a bit oversized, but the outer edge of the inner dark metal/black ring is 40mm in diameter so I can measure up to there and it fits fine.

The idea behind it was that if you need to randomly place a target, you close the iris, select and place an object, then open it back up to see which object is where. I just thought that would be an easy way to do it.
