Synology is the premium option in this space and it shows. After using it for nearly a month, the analogy that immediately comes to mind is that Synology is basically the Apple of NAS solutions as the software is incredibly easy to use. I'll demonstrate the setup and some uses as it is so simple. Like Apple, Synology isn't the cheapest option and you'll probably get more hardware for your money elsewhere, but my audience, which is mostly iPhone and Mac users, knows that software can make or break hardware and that you'll get the best results if the company makes the hardware and software.
