Everyone knows we need to make our websites ADA compliant, whether it's WCAG or 508, but what does it take to make sure a website truly meets those criteria? The first step is knowing the basics of accessibility and how it affects you, your users, and your website. With the background knowledge of what accessibility means, we can then use that knowledge to successfully audit any website and figure out what it takes to make it a great experience for everyone. We'll take some time and look at some recommended automated tools and go over some basic screen reader commands to test your website!
NOTE: The screen reader portion of this demo uses the Mac's proprietary Voiceover (VO) screen reader, which is slightly different from other assistive technologies such as NVDA and Jaws.
