Questions and answers about garage doors

What type of garage door do I have?
There are many types of garage doors – canopy and sliding doors are the most common types. For more information, see our guide to garage door openers.
Should I choose chain or belt drive?
Chains are very durable and less expensive than belts, however belt drive is recommended if there is accommodation above your garage as it is the quieter option.
How long does it take to install a garage door opener?
Depending on your DIY skills, it should take about one to three hours after unpacking and reading the instructions. A second pair of hands is always useful to hold items in place while securing.
Is my garage door suitable for automation?
We have garage door openers suitable for almost all garage doors. Single and double garage doors can be operated as well as swing and sectional doors.
Please note that all door types must be in good condition and correctly balanced, according to the door manufacturer's specifications, before fitting an opener. As a rule of thumb, if the door opens easily and smoothly, it is suitable for installation.
Can I open two or more garage doors with the same remote control?
Yes, you can program your remotes to open more than one garage door. Your other garage door must have the same type of receiver board. If not, you can purchase a universal receiver that will solve this problem.
Can I operate my electric gates with the same remote control as my garage door?
Yes, you can program your remotes to open both your electric gate opener and your garage door. Your gate opener must have the same receiver board. If not, you can purchase a universal receiver that will solve this problem.
Can I open my garage door if there is a power outage?
The garage door can be opened manually from the inside. If you have no other entrance to your garage, you will need a lock opener. This allows you to deactivate the lock on your opener with a key and open it manually.
