I had just returned from hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and was homeless. I had given up my apartment to go hiking and now that I was back, I wanted to turn my car into a living space. I eventually did that (you can see it here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLA2hTuXLig), but I still needed to access a lot of stuff from my storage room, which was 6x4x10 and just had everything squashed together. I figured there had to be a better way. I picked a 10x10x6 room and moved all my stuff in. Even though it was still super small, I managed to build shelves and organize everything so that everything was accessible. But why stop there! I decided to build shelves and a water system and set up my real apartment so that I could live there. I moved in! I ended up living in the space for about two months. I only spent about $100 to make the space so efficient, mostly because I already owned so much hardware. The rent for my space was $205 per month (including insurance). A bargain considering an apartment in the area costs over $1000 per month.
