A license agreement can be compared, to put it bluntly, to a marriage: both are long-term, versatile and valuable. However, the following three points are important for successful license negotiations, but are nevertheless often neglected:
First, sufficient time must be allowed for the preparation and conduct of the negotiations.
Second, get into a cooperative mode and work towards a win-win solution; but still (and this is the third point):
Stay assertive to safely protect your core interests.
