This week the brand new Strand 3-Burst Linear "Scintillation" released with the GM Nightfall, and with the benefits it can have, I was very excited to run some numbers to see if it compares well to the rest of the Linear roster. Being the first 3-Burst with Bait & Switch, it's actually the best in both DPS and total damage (ignoring Euphony, lol), which I'm actually very happy about! Linears haven't always been that great, but they're pretty good for total damage over long distances, and Scintillation is now the best at that. As I just hinted, I've also been testing the entire Exotic Linear catalog, and to no one's surprise, Euphony is absolutely cracked, total damage starting from zero is STILL higher than Scintillation, and that's for a Linear with SPECIAL AMMO, crazy! The Queenbreaker also surprised me because it now does more total damage than the Sleeper Simulant because it was recently buffed and has 3 more reserve ammo and has a total 12% damage bonus. Of course, it's still a meme choice, but interesting nonetheless. If you don't have access to metal-heavy options, I would definitely say Linears are a very safe choice for fights like The Witness or Oryx, so definitely don't underestimate their effectiveness, they're more of a mediocre option or a stepping stone as players get better at dealing damage.
