The main objective is to defend a central object, called the Hypercore, from successive waves of enemy animated toys. The main antagonist in the game is a character named Major Evil, who leads the attacks against the Hypercore. The narrative suggests that people would forget their childhood action figures if they couldn't defend the Hypercore. The game introduces a character, Sgt. Max Ammo, who plays a major role in the plot as the leader of the defense effort.
