In this video we go over the basics of connecting a 10-channel analog audio mixer (Yamaha MG10) to a powered speaker (Yamaha DXR12). Then we'll connect a microphone (Shure SM58) and a headphone cable so we can connect a phone.

Let's start with the basics. Before running an XLR or signal cable, we always check that we have a good power source at the venue. Once the mixer is powered on, we check that the speaker also has a reliable power source.

Once the mixer and the speaker are turned on, we connect the two using the signal cable. The speaker should be turned off when connecting the signal cable.

You can then connect your microphone and input sources, check their volume, and have a fantastic event!
