This is how you learn any language by sentence mining, that is, collecting as many sentences with audio as you can find and memorizing them through spaced repetition.

Some things I discussed in the video:

Anki, a flashcard creation and review program with a built-in spaced repetition algorithm that maximizes your repetition efficiency:

CantoDict sentences, hundreds of Cantonese sentences and audio:

Tatoeba, an impressive sentence database with hundreds of thousands of sentences in different languages, often with audio:
https://tatoeba.org/eng/

Glossika, a verification system that gives you 3,000 phrases in a huge range of languages, including unusual phrases you'll only find there, like Belarusian, Armenian and Wenzhounese:

Bing's Mandarin-English Dictionary, a GREAT resource for finding Mandarin examples (and a one-stop Mandarin/Chinese dictionary) – automatically compiles millions of examples from across the web.

(By the way, this is not paid advertising.)

You can download my Cantonese Anki deck with about 400 example sentences in Cantonese, English and Mandarin with audio here:
