"How do you present to capture the audience's attention?" is a question Mark knows the answer to. He went from believing it was impossible for him to speak in public to being someone who always gets good reviews at conferences. Presentation skills are of course key to a TEDx event, which is why Mark Robinson was invited to TEDxEindhoven. The city of Eindhoven is full of engineers who give technical presentations every day. As an engineer himself, Mark has experienced too many boring presentations. Presentation skills can be learned, Mark himself is proof of that. In this talk, Mark explains his path, gives his best tips, shows how not to present, and tells us why it is so important to captivate your audience.

Mark Robinson has worked for a number of companies in the region including ASML, DAF, FEI, Océ, Philips & Ziggo through Sioux, Topic and his current company TMC where he has been employed since 2011. Mark's roles have included software developer, software tester, team leader, wiki champion and software consultant specialising in '3-day scans' using Agile, Lean and Test Process Improvement methodologies.

This talk was delivered at a TEDx event that used the TED conference format but was independently organized by a local community. For more information, visit http://ted.com/tedx
