About this video: This video is a complete guide on how to join your friends' single player world in Minecraft Java Edition. There are a few different methods to play Minecraft with friends on PC and this video goes over all the different methods from LAN worlds to creating a server. This video covers it all!

The easiest way to play Minecraft worlds with your friends is to use a LAN world. However, there are some limitations. In particular, you must be connected to the same Internet/WiFi to play your Minecraft world with friends over LAN.

To play Minecraft over LAN, join the Minecraft single player world you want to play with your friend and press "Escape" to pause the game. Click "Open for LAN", change the settings you want, then click the "Start LAN World" button. Your Minecraft single player world is now open for LAN.

As long as your friend has the same internet connection as you, they can go to the Multiplayer menu in their Minecraft Java Edition and see your single player world at the bottom. They can double click on that world to join your single player world in Minecraft Java.

However, there are two other methods to play your single player world with your friends and that is by adding them to a Minecraft server. This can be a server hosted on your computer itself or a server located at a hosting company.

In the description above you will find a link to create a Minecraft server on your computer as well as a link to our hosting, SimpleGameHosting. You can use any of these methods to create your server. Once your server is created, you will need to add your single player world to it.

To do this, open the Minecraft Launcher. Then, click on the Installations tab at the top of the launcher. Hover over the version of Minecraft you use to play your single-player world and click on the folder icon that appears. This will open your Minecraft folder.

In your .minecraft folder you will find a folder called "saves". Open this and you will see all your single player Minecraft Java worlds. Right click and copy the world you want to add to your server.

Next, open your server's directory. You can also connect to your server via FTP if you are with a hosting company. Paste the world into the server's root directory where your server.jar, mods, and other files and folders are located.

After the world is moved, delete the existing "world" folder if it exists. Simply rename the moved "Singleplayer World" folder to "world". Now when you start your server, your Minecraft singleplayer world is what will be on the server when you join it.

Now that Minecraft Java is on the server, your friends can also join your world and play it.

So now you know how to play with your friends in single player worlds of Minecraft. If you have any questions about playing Minecraft Java with friends, let us know in the comments.
