Even Snapchat, although Instagram trumps it, still does really well. They have over a hundred million daily active users. But for a beginner, it's all overwhelming and complicated. So how do you get started? Hi everyone, I'm Neil Patel and today I'm going to show you how to get started on social media as a beginner.

The first thing you need to do is choose the right social network. Yes, there are many. Whether it's Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, it's up to you which network you want to be on. You could be on all of them, but if you're on all of them, you won't spend enough time making those profiles great.

But now that you have the right thing, the second thing you need to do is start creating content. Yeah, you're thinking, "Hey, I don't have any friends, I don't have any followers." It doesn't matter, nobody is going to follow you if you don't have any content. So start creating content. That starts with completing your profile.

Now that you've created content, the next thing you need to do is connect. And you need to connect with people, it's a social network. Just because you're sitting at a computer doesn't mean you're not connecting with people. So make sure you add all the people you know as friends and follow them. You're engaging, right, you're building connections.

And the last tip: don't pay attention to the number of followers you have. It's about having valuable, personal connections. Because if your first 100 fans or followers aren't that engaged with you, then all the social networks will see that in their algorithms and pay attention to a percentage.
