I've said it in a previous video, but I want to be clear: I firmly believe that most people on Earth are good – and that includes hotel workers.
I'm all about minimizing unnecessary risk. And on the rare occasion that you become the target of an evil hotel employee or other person who gains access to your hotel room, the hotel room safe is likely to be the first place they look (especially if they know about the safe's superuser code-breaking system).
The odds of being robbed in a hotel you're staying at should be less than 1%, but I know that in the extremely rare event that my hotel room is robbed, the time it would take to search every possible hiding place AFTER I found nothing of value in the hotel room safe allows me to REALLY enjoy exploring outside of the hotel.
