An unprepared guest can result in poor audio and video quality, which can cost you a lot of editing time. But all you need to do is give your guest a guide of best practices BEFORE the interview.

Here are my top 3 most important practices for your guests:

#1: Find a quiet place with as little outside noise as possible. Mute all electronic devices, fans and household appliances. And avoid possible noises such as pets, loud music and construction work.

#2: Use a wired internet connection if possible. This will reduce dropouts, lag and poor audio/video quality.

#3: Consider using an external USB microphone like the Samson Q2U. Although podcast hosts generally don't need it, it is highly appreciated due to the high quality sound it delivers!
