Google Cloud security can be confusing for newbies, so we're creating a new short series where we'll explain a new GCP security concept each day.
Today's tip is about signed URLs, which is a type of URL that gives the user limited permissions and time to make requests. Let's say you're building a photo storage application and a user named Cindy wants to share her photos with her friend Dave.
Instead of asking Dave to create an account, your app can instead generate a signed URL that grants time-limited access to the photos. When Cindy shares the link with Dave, he can view the photos without having to log in anywhere.
