Hi, my name is Dan Scott and welcome to the Figma UX UI Essentials course.

Together – you and I – we will learn everything you need to get started working as a UX designer with Figma.

We use this UI UX design tool to create beautiful user interfaces and engaging prototypes, but most importantly, we take into account client expectations from you as a new UX designer.

This course is aimed at people who are new to design, new to user experience design. Even if you're not quite sure what UX really means, don't worry. We'll start at the very beginning and work our way through step by step.

• First we describe the task and how to work with a UX persona.
• You will then learn how to create simple wireframes.
• From there, we'll look at how to properly implement colors and images into your designs.
• You will learn what to consider when choosing fonts for web and mobile apps.
• You will learn how to create your own icons, buttons and other UI components.
• You'll learn some pretty scary terms like components, constraints, and multidimensional variants. They're all really easy to understand once you know how.
• We also make our lives easier by using free UI kits and plugins for Figma that drastically speed up our workflow!
• We create a simple style guide that can be made available to the client.
• You will understand how to create both simple and advanced microinteractions, page transitions and animations
• At the end of the course you will have created fully interactive prototypes.
• You see a project through to completion, collaborate with other team members and export the right files to pass on to your developer or software engineer.

We'll focus on the software Figma, but I'll be sure to explain the techniques and terms used in UX and show how projects are done in the real world. You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry and be able to lead your own UX projects.

I will give you tasks throughout the course that will help you develop your skills and enable you to create something special and unique for your own portfolio.

Okay – it’s time to upgrade and go from Figma Zero to Figma Hero.
