In a thought-provoking talk, Nat Ware argues that charities have been pigeonholed for far too long. We have expectations of charities, he says, and those expectations limit them. Nat is founder and CEO of 180 Degrees Consulting, which helps charities and social enterprises around the world overcome the challenges they face and operate as effectively as possible (www.180dc.org). Nat is based at the University of Oxford, where his research focuses on international development, economics and social entrepreneurship.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
